“Be content with what you have; Rejoice in the way things are, When you realize there is nothing lacking The whole world belongs to you.”

— Tao Te Ching

Values and Approach

Values

A life well-lived

Integrity. Trusting your gut. Doing what’s best. Communicating honestly. Experiencing emotions fully. Having gratitude for being who you are. Knowing, on the deepest level, that if this were the final moment of your life, you are at peace. Integrity.

A life well lived simply means quieting the noise in your mind, looking within and living fully, completely present to each moment as it occurs.

A business in balance

Whether you run your own business or are an employee of one, balancing business endeavors with family, friends, recreational pursuits and spiritual endeavors can seem impossible. Email, PDA’s and mobile phones compound the situation by making you available 24/7.

A business in balance allows you to focus completely on your work when appropriate and also allows you to truly bring each work day to an end and then to focus just as intently on the rest of your life.

A world made better by your contribution

There are as many ways to improve the state of the world as there are people in it. Making a difference – for the greater good – is one of the best ways to clarify your own priorities and to appreciate how blessed you are.

A world made better by your contribution is the greatest gift that you can leave future generations.

Approach

Behavior is a biological function, absolutely analogous to breathing and to the beating of your heart. With this knowledge, we’ll examine key issues common to every human being, such as why we’re always striving for more, and why satisfaction only seems to be temporary, no matter how much we accomplish or gain.

We’ll also scrutinize the fear of rejection and the desire to be accepted; two driving forces which virtually run our lives, causing us to live in a state of anticipating what might occur and skewing our judgment in the process, instead of being present to the people and places around us.

Together, we’ll work to help you maximize who you are, acknowledging the specific skills, talents, abilities and potential that you possess. We’ll look honestly and openly at the goals that you have, as well as the challenges that you are facing, and chart an effective course to help you accomplish your goals and overcome your challenges.

Along the way, you’ll receive consistent feedback, encouragement, and constructive criticism. You’ll be encouraged to make course-corrections as necessary, and will be held accountable for your promises. We’ll find the best combination of balancing what you’re doing with who you’re being.

You’ll be reminded that regardless of what you achieve, true happiness will only come from being with your life as it actually is, in each and every moment. The past is over, the future has not yet occurred and the present is all that is real. Ongoing change becomes attainable to the degree that you learn to step back and observe yourself and the world around you, and how the two relate.

Ultimately, you’ll discover the somewhat counter-intuitive notion that by simply acting in harmony with who you are, everything becomes possible.
